We are seeking a dedicated and experienced female Assistant Chef (driving licence could be a plus to deliver food)to join our Multi-cuisine Take away team(fish&chips, Burgers,pizzas,Biryani etc). The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment, supporting the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food safety and presentation.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in line with menu specifications.
  • Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and quality across all dishes.
  • Manage food safety standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure timely serving of meals and smooth service delivery.
  • Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Support the training of new team members, fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen environment.
  • Contribute to menu planning and development alongside the Head Chef.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Demonstrable culinary expertise, including food presentation and plating techniques.
  • Experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is preferred.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
