About The School :

We believe that consistency and a positive atmosphere are key to success, and we are seeking a reliable and proactive Cover Supervisor to ensure our students' learning journey continues seamlessly, even when a teacher is absent.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of the regular Teacher. You won't be required to plan or teach lessons, but you will be the key to ensuring students stay on task, engaged, and focused on the work that has been set for them. This role is perfect for someone with excellent communication and behavior management skills who wants to gain valuable experience in a school setting.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students complete pre-set work.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment in line with school policies.
- Respond to student questions about tasks and procedures, offering guidance and support.
- Deal with any immediate issues or emergencies according to the school's procedures.
- Collect and return completed student work to the appropriate teacher.
- Report back on the class's progress and any significant behavioral issues to the Head of Department or senior staff.
- Act as a positive role model for students, promoting the school's ethos and values.
What We're Looking For
- Experience of working with young people in a school or similar setting.
- Strong and confident classroom management skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach to work.
- A commitment to the highest possible standards of student conduct and learning.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., a degree or Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is beneficial, but not essential. We value the right attitude and potential above all.
