The Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and authoritative Professional Cover Supervisor to ensure the continuity of learning during the planned and unplanned short-term absence of teaching staff. You will be responsible for overseeing classes, delivering set work, and managing the classroom dynamically to keep students engaged and on track with the curriculum. Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supervise lessons by presenting the work set by the absent teacher and ensuring students understand the tasks.
- Implement the school's behaviour policy consistently and fairly to maintain an orderly and focused learning atmosphere.
- Manage classroom resources and ensure students have the necessary materials to complete the assigned work.
- Respond to students' requests for assistance in a helpful and encouraging manner, without teaching new material.
- Take the class register and follow all administrative procedures related to the cover lesson.
- Deal with immediate problems or emergencies in the classroom according to school protocol, seeking senior staff assistance when necessary.
- Provide accurate and constructive feedback to the absent teacher on the progress of the lesson, student engagement, and any issues encountered.

- Demonstrable experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably working with teenagers (ages 11-16).
