About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be a key part of their school's smooth operation. Your main responsibility is to supervise classes during the short-term absence of a Teacher, ensuring students remain on task with pre-planned lessons. You will maintain a positive and productive atmosphere, manage student behaviour, and help foster a safe and respectful learning environment for all.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage classes during a teacher's absence, ensuring students complete their set work.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and provide clear instructions to students.
• Effectively manage student behaviour in line with school policies, ensuring a positive learning environment.
• Respond to student questions and provide assistance to help them stay on track.
• Collect completed work and report any issues or concerns to the relevant staff members.
• Foster a respectful and orderly classroom where students feel motivated to learn.

What We're Looking For:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with young people.
• Confidence and authority to manage a classroom effectively.
• Flexibility and adaptability to handle different subjects and year groups.
• Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Previous experience in a school setting or with young people is beneficial, but not essential.
