We are an international human rights agency assisting legal firms in the USA, Canada, the UK, and the EU with expert witness reports for asylum and human rights cases. We are seeking a PhD-level Country Expert Witness with deep expertise across North Africa, Central Africa, or West Africa (regions that may include Sudan, Libya, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, DRC, CAR, Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Senegal, etc.). This is a remote, part-time role for highly qualified academics or researchers with strong regional knowledge. Responsibilities: Review and finalize expert witness reports for asylum and human rights cases Verify and contextualize information on human rights, political violence, armed conflict, and social conditions Provide expert-level insight and academic rigor Work with our legal and editorial teams to ensure accuracy and professional standards Requirements (Strict): PhD REQUIRED in political science, African studies, sociology, international relations, history, law, or a related field Deep expertise in one or more subregions: North Africa, Central Africa, West Africa Strong understanding of conflict dynamics, governance, human rights violations, and migration drivers in the region Excellent English writing skills (B2+ or higher) Preferred candidates: scholars from the region or with extensive field research experience What We Offer: Full training and clear methodology Regular projects and stable compensation Flexible remote work Collaboration with an international human rights organization To Apply: Send: Your CV A short message outlining your regional expertise Links to publications, academic work, or relevant reports (if available)
