About

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Counselling Psychologist to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering therapeutic interventions and psychological support to children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, or instability. Working closely with social workers, foster carers, educators, and other professionals, you will help create safe and nurturing environments where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions to children and young people in care or at risk of entering care
• Deliver therapeutic support tailored to individual needs
• Offer consultation and guidance to foster carers, residential staff, and professionals on managing challenging behaviours and promoting emotional wellbeing
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans that support resilience and recovery
• Contribute to training and workshops for professionals on trauma, attachment, and mental health
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for care planning and statutory requirements

Qualifications and Skills
• Registration with the appropriate professional body (e.g., HCPC)
• Experience working with children and young people, particularly those who have experienced trauma or are in care
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed approaches, attachment theory, and child development
• Skilled in delivering therapeutic interventions for complex emotional and behavioural needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with children, families, and professionals
• Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
