- Content Marketing Manager Job Description
- Job purpose
- Working in a marketing team of three, this role plays a key part in building brand awareness and ensuring we are in the hearts and minds of potential buyers wherever they are in the buying process (at any one time around 60% of target companies are not looking for a solution, whilst 34% are doing vendor research and shortlisting). Using account-based marketing (ABM) principles, the Content Marketing Manager will develop a strong understanding of the different members of the buying group, what they need at each stage of the buying journey and how to deliver value to them through content. By understanding our buyers and the market we can then position Inclusive Employers as thought leaders and trusted partners in creating inclusive workplaces and cultures.
- Key responsibilities
The following are the key elements of the role
- Own and deliver the content strategy across the entire buyer journey/ marketing funnel — awareness, consideration, and decision.
- Create engaging, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) optimised content in multiple formats: blogs, whitepapers, guides, LinkedIn posts, email nurture assets, and webinars.
- Develop and manage a keyword and SEO/ AEO strategy to ensure organic visibility and traffic growth for target topics and themes.
- Plan and deliver thought leadership webinars, managing the full lifecycle — from topic design and promotion through to post-event nurture and reporting.
- Manage and grow the corporate LinkedIn presence, posting daily in varied formats (articles, carousels, polls, video, and commentary).
- Ensure all content reflects the brand voice and aligns with customer insight gathered through social listening and market engagement.
- Support the Account-Based Marketing (ABM) pilot by creating sector-specific and persona-based content tailored for targeted outreach which positions sales as credible and trusted experts in that sector.
- Collaborate closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to align SEO content with PPC, retargeting, and campaign performance data.
- Use AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Jasper, HubSpot AI, SurferSEO) to enhance ideation, keyword research, and content production while maintaining editorial quality.
- Report and track the ROI / performance of content activity using engagement, organic traffic, MQL influence, and pipeline contribution metrics and linking outputs to lead generation, pipeline and revenue outcomes
- Manage freelance writers or content partners when needed to scale output efficiently.
- Development opportunities
- We invest in developing our staff through our own courses, external development opportunities and through a comprehensive programme of internal CPD sessions. As far as possible, we enable staff to develop their own areas of specialism and passions.
