- What will you be doing?
- We are currently seeking a Configuration Engineer (Product Change Leader) to support one of our major aerospace clients. This position involves leading and coordinating the management of Change Requests throughout the entire change process — from initiation through to aircraft implementation.
- You’ll coordinate a multi-functional team (MFT) including Configuration, Engineering, Manufacturing, Costing, Supply Chain, and Suppliers to ensure all technical and industrial inputs are delivered on time, at the right level of quality, and are ready for presentation at key decision boards.
- In addition, you’ll support Configuration Management Industrial Integration (CMII) activities — ensuring the industrial strategy for each change is properly defined and supported through industrial and manufacturing documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the management of Change Requests across the full lifecycle of the change process.
- Coordinate and align multi-disciplinary teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc.) to deliver high-quality inputs on time.
- Prepare and present change documentation for internal and external decision boards.
- Define and document the industrial strategy for each change, ensuring alignment with configuration tools and industrial dossiers.
- Collaborate closely with FAL (Final Assembly Line), pre-FAL, suppliers, and equipment providers to ensure smooth industrial integration.
- Support Configuration Management Industrial Integration (CMII) processes and compliance.
- Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline (essential).
- Strong project coordination and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Good understanding of the change process within aerospace or complex engineering environments.
- Knowledge of aircraft product structure, particularly wing assemblies.
- Awareness of UK aerospace industrial processes.
- CMII (Configuration Management Industrial Integration) knowledge desirable.
