Communications Officer
Ready to step into a fast-paced role where you bring the stories of frontline policing to life?
As a Communications Officer at Thames Valley Police, you will be at the centre of some of the most important conversations in policing – helping to protect our communities, inform the public and showcase the work of our officers and staff. From breaking news to strategic campaigns, you’ll plan and deliver high-quality communications that really make a difference to our community.
You will work closely with officers and staff to understand their needs and deliver clear, engaging communications through our internal and external channels. We are looking for trusted advisors who can produce standout content and give others the tools they need to communicate effectively.
When you are fully trained and have passed mandatory training, you will also be required to carry out a shift pattern and as part of an on-call duty rota.
We’re looking for strong communicators with excellent writing and relationship-building skills. You will be confident managing competing priorities, comfortable working independently or as part of a team and ready to challenge assumptions in pursuit of clear, effective communication.
Most of all, you’ll be passionate about public service and excited by the opportunity to help shape the reputation and reach of one of the UK’s largest police forces.
As part of the Thames Valley Police family you will enjoy a fantastic range of benefits including 24 days annual leave per annum, pro-rata for part time (plus Bank Holidays), flexible working conditions, a wide range of lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities and have the option to join a local government pension scheme.
