Pay rate: £30.37 per hour PAYE
Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 6 months
Working Arrangement: 50/50 Hybrid working

The role:

On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Strategic Communications Business Partner for approximately 6 months.

If you’ve got a track record of doing things a little differently, love turning complex ideas into compelling stories, and want to help shape how the council connect with local communities, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide a comprehensive strategic communications advice and consultancy service to directors, leaders and senior officers across the organisation and allocated partners, understanding the business and its future direction in relation to directorates.
Lead the communications strategy within directorates and will commission and develop strategic and operational communications support and interventions on behalf of allocated services.
Carry collective accountability for ensuring that the communications function meets the needs of an everchanging council.



What the client is looking for:

Previous experience of delivering standout communications, ideally within a local authority or large public sector body
Ability to influence leaders and win trust across the organisation
Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience
Communications/PR or journalism qualification e.g. CIPR or equivalent experience
Strong programme and project management skills.
Expertise in digital, behaviour change and engagement strategies.
Political awareness and experience navigating complex public sector issues.
Experience of driving impactful campaigns and collaborative projects.
Solid knowledge of communications law and local government.
Exceptional writing, speaking and storytelling ability.
