My client, an award-winning multi-strategy hedge fund, is looking to hire a desk-aligned engineer for their Commodities business. This team seeks to generate alpha through directional and relative value strategies across both physical and financial commodities markets. They evaluate opportunities in natural gas, power, crude, and refined products, and agriculture, primarily in North America and Europe. Using fundamental research, proprietary analytical methodologies, and quantitative analysis to drive their views, they join these techniques with an intense focus on understanding each market they trade, reflected in the ability to generate supply and demand balances for each commodity or product. A key part of this process is their advanced technology platform, allowing a quick and deep understanding of patterns within a market or product, the ability to conduct scenario analysis and to improve the overall accuracy of their views.
