With food at the heart of every pupil's development, we are looking to recruit an organised, experienced, and enthusiastic Pastry Assistant who understands large-scale operations and is willing to make their mark.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Pastry Assistant to join our culinary team.As a Pastry Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pastry chefs in creating delicious baked goods and desserts for our customers.Assist pastry chefs in preparing a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and dessertsMix, shape, and bake dough for various pastry itemsDecorate cakes and pastries as directed by the pastry chefMaintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standardsAssist in inventory management and restocking of suppliesCollaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of desserts for serviceFollow recipes and instructions precisely to maintain consistency in product qualityParticipate in team efforts to improve processes and create new menu itemsQualificationsFood handling certification preferredKnowledge of basic baking and pastry techniquesStrong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accuratelyExcellent time management and organisational skillsUnderstanding of food safety and hygiene practicesAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentTeam player with good communication skillsFlexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and lates on occasionPrior experience in a bakery or pastry kitchenPassion for baking and creating high-quality dessertsAdditional InformationHolroyd Howe is one of the UK’s leading contract caterers, providing fresh innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges.
