What's involved with this role:

Role: Commercial Manager
Contract Length: 6 months

Location: Hybrid 40% – locations throughout UK
Pay rate: PAYE equivalent of £515 umbrella per day

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to help drive delivery of a nationally significant infrastructure programme. The portfolio includes new builds, major refurbishments, and expansions across a diverse and complex estate.

You will ideally have experience working with NEC3/NEC4 or PPC2000 contracts, a track record of managing large-scale projects, and the confidence to influence stakeholders in complex, client-side environments.

Key Accountabilities

Manage post-contract administration for construction and professional service contracts.
Lead on variations, change control, issue resolution, and risk management.
Provide expert commercial advice and support to stakeholders on strategy and contract management.
Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value while ensuring compliance with governance and policy.
Build and maintain strong relationships with estates, operations, finance, and supply chain partners.
Contribute to continuous improvement and innovative commercial solutions across the portfolio.



Key Criteria:

Essential:

Proven experience in infrastructure, construction, or property environments.
Strong background in procurement and/or contract management.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage supplier relationships effectively.
Excellent communication skills, with success working both independently and collaboratively.
Membership of a relevant professional body or degree in surveying, engineering, law, finance, or equivalent industry experience.



Desirable:

Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 or PPC2000 contracts.
Client-side or regulated procurement experience.
Experience managing projects of £20m+ in scale.
Familiarity with procurement and file management systems (e.g., Oracle, Bravo, 4Projects).
