Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Coffee Shop Assistant to join our team opening our outdoor seasonal coffee shop operation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in the hospitality industry. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food and beverage preparation within a vibrant café environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to gain experience in catering, serving, and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and light refreshments in accordance with company standards.
• Take customer orders accurately, process payments, and handle cash register operations efficiently.
• Provide friendly and attentive service to all customers, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
• Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment, adhering to food safety protocols.
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required.
• Restock supplies and ensure the café is well-organised throughout shifts.
• Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
• Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the shop.

Experience

• Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous.
• Experience in food preparation or restaurant environments is desirable.
• Barista experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is beneficial.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: £12.21-£14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
