  • As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining a lean, secure, and scalable multi-cloud environment that powers mission-critical applications. You’ll collaborate closely with software engineers to enhance developer experience, streamline workflows, and ensure highly reliable production operations. This role offers the opportunity to shape the cloud infrastructure roadmap while working in a culture of feedback, collaboration, and innovation. You’ll thrive in an agile environment that values openness, ownership, and continuous learning, with the freedom to work remotely across Europe or South Africa while still engaging in regular in-person meetups.
  • Accountabilities
  • Operate and maintain cloud infrastructure across GCP and Hetzner, including Kubernetes clusters (GKE, Rancher).
  • Manage core infrastructure components within Kubernetes, such as Hashicorp Vault, Redis, and NGINX Ingress.
  • Monitor system health using Grafana dashboards and alerts to ensure availability and reliability.
  • Enhance security by implementing refined authorization, network segmentation, and data encryption strategies.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to improve developer workflows under a “you build it, you run it” mindset.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for infrastructure improvement, including cost optimization, enhanced monitoring, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a major cloud provider.
  • Strong growth mindset, resilience, and a proactive approach to solving challenges.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, multicultural, and agile environment.
  • Flexibility to manage occasional deployments outside of core working hours.
  • Eagerness to learn, openness to feedback, and the ability to adapt in fast-changing environments.
