Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home
Are you an experienced and dedicated professional looking to make a significant difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a passionate and skilled Deputy Manager to join our team at a children's residential home.
About the RoleAs a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our home. You will be instrumental in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for up to three children, aged 8-16, who present with autism, emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), and trauma. This role requires a commitment to full-time shift work and participation in on-call duties.
Responsibilities- Support the Registered Manager in all aspects of home management, including staff supervision, rota management, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Lead and motivate a team of residential childcare workers, providing guidance and support.
- Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of each child, focusing on their developmental, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Manage challenging behaviours effectively and therapeutically.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, and professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all children in the home.
- Level 4 or above qualification in Residential Childcare.
- Alternatively, a Level 5 qualification in Children, Young People and Residential Management.
- Proven experience working with children and young people with autism, EBD, and trauma within a residential setting.
- A strong understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
- Use of Clearcare an advantage
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, on a shift rota basis, which will include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Participation in an on-call rota is also a requirement.
SalaryUp to £36,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
