Position: Catering Assistant

Qualification: Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety (Catering), First Aid Certificate
Randstad Education has a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and talented Catering Assistant. You'll play a vital role in providing nutritious and appealing meals for the children and young people in our care, who have severe and complex learning difficulties.
This is a full time permanent role and you will be required to support five days a week Monday - Friday inline with school hours.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with meal preparation and service, ensuring portion control and food safety.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene, including cleaning equipment, surfaces, and floors.
- Receive, check, and store food deliveries according to food safety standards.
- Ensure accurate allergen labelling in compliance with Natasha's Law.
- Serve food respectfully, considering individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Engage positively with young people during mealtimes.
- Carry out and record equipment and maintenance checks.
- Contribute to the overall quality of the food service.
Preferred Skills:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety (Catering) certificate.
- Good working knowledge of health & safety, COSHH, and food hygiene legislation.
- Good IT literacy (Outlook, Excel).
- Knowledge of Natasha's Law (allergen labelling).
- Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently when required.
- First Aid Certificate.

Please note that this role is unable to offer any Sponsorship at this time.
All candidates will be subject to Randstad Education's child protection and UK eligibility vetting including a DBS check and providing satisfactory references. A DBS on the update service would be a distinct advantage due to the urgent nature of some of these roles.
