Do you have a Catering Qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent?

Duties within Care Homes include preparation of food and beverages and the organisation of the service of food, along with understanding the requirements of special diets for residents.

Completion of basic bookwork and electronic returns may be required.

Duties may include serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen, its surround and equipment.

We currently have casual vacancies for Assistant Cooks in Care Homes, within Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Methil, Anstruther or Cupar.

All Care Homes provide care 7 days a week for residents – all requests for varied hours will be considered. This could be anything from 1 day to 1 week.

You will earn £13.18 per hour casual staff receive payments in lieu of annual leave for hours worked and have access to a range of benefits, including:

£13.18 per hour, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekend.

This work is about ensuring residents, service users and staff are provided with meals throughout the day.

The Person

Do you have a Catering Experience or a Qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent?

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

You will be required to attend an Induction Training Day before starting in post
