Chelmsford City Council operates four leisure centres across the city, offering a wide range of sport and leisure activities for all ages. During the school holidays, we run City Camps; a fun-filled, engaging camp for children aged 4–7 and 8–12, designed to introduce them to exciting new activities in a safe and supportive environment.

We’re currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to support our City Camp Leaders in delivering high-quality experiences at Riverside Leisure Centre.

Our Activities Assistants:

• Assist with the day-to-day running of our holiday camps.
• Support children in a variety of sports and leisure activities.
• Create a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants.
• Communicate confidently with children, parents, and staff.

We’re Looking for Individuals with:

• The ability to work well with others, including children.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to adapt activities to suit different ages and abilities.
• A sports leadership or coaching qualification (this is desirable but not essential).

This vacancy is offered on a casual basis and successful applicants will be required to work predominantly during the school holidays, but additional sessions may be available during school term times and weekends.
