School Caretaker Hourly Rate: £19.00 (Umbrella) / £16.00 (PAYE)Location: Barking, East LondonJob Type: Working Monday to Friday 10.30am to 5.30pm We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join a vibrant school located near Dagenham, East London. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on and has a passion for maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment. Day-to-day of the role: Opening up and locking up the site, setting the alarmConducting weekly fire alarm checks and maintaining safety protocolsPerforming general repairs and maintenance tasks within the schoolUnblocking sinks and toilets, fixing door and window handlesCarrying out painting and decorating tasks as neededReplacing toilet seats, putting up shelves, and pin boardsConducting daily health and safety checks to ensure a secure environment for students and staffOverseeing contractors on site and ensuring work is completed to standardsProviding porterage services, moving furniture, and delivering parcels around the buildingLitter picking, sweeping up leaves, emptying bins, and replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizerMaintaining the school grounds and performing all other duties as required Required Skills & Qualifications: Previous experience in a caretaker or maintenance role is preferredAbility to perform physical tasks and handle various handyperson dutiesKnowledge of health and safety regulationsGood organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasksReliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibilityExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently Benefits: Competitive hourly rate with paid holiday scheme</
