- Apple's Camera Software team in Cambridge is looking for graduate-level students
- interested in diving into the world of camera software and machine learning at
- Apple. As part of the team you will research and develop software, tooling and
- testing infrastructure to improve the image quality of Apple's cameras. The
- Camera Software team in Cambridge works across the camera imaging stack,
- shipping impactful work to millions of our customers. The team works closely
- with many other teams, including camera hardware and software teams, algorithm
- designers and image quality experts, to deliver industry-leading consumer
- imaging devices. The work environment fosters innovation, rapid iteration and
- awards independence and creativity in solving engineering problems
- DESCRIPTION
- As an intern you will be responsible for investigating how modern software
- development and machine learning can intersect with high-reliability software
- delivered to millions of devices. You will work with the team to identify a
- suitable project in the areas of image quality and the camera software
- framework, and then work to deliver a robust solution, possibly working towards
- practical implementation on future devices.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong software development experience and interest, preferably Objective C, C++
- or equivalents An understanding of the inner workings of a modern digital camera
- and the Image Signal Processor (ISP) Practical experience with machine learning
- and deep learning algorithms Working knowledge of Python and ML libraries
- (Tensorflow, Pytorch)
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with imaging algorithms, for example: auto white balance, tone
- mapping, denoising, auto exposure and auto focus Strong problem solving and
- interpersonal skills Currently enrolled in a degree studying: Computer
- Science/Physics/Maths/Electronic Engineering or similar field and you will be
- returning to education after the internship concludes.
