Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient 18+ Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, assisting with food and beverage preparation, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all patrons. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality sector, particularly in catering, serving, and food safety standards.

Duties

• Welcome customers warmly and take their orders with professionalism and attentiveness
• Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation standards are met
• Assist with food preparation tasks in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen spaces
• Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation throughout shifts
• Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the POS system efficiently
• Support in organising children's birthday party events
• Uphold high standards of food safety and hygiene at all times
• Collaborate with team members to deliver an exceptional customer experience
• Opening or closing the site
• General cleaning duties required to before opening or closing the site
• Working within a children's soft play centre environment

Requirements

• Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and weekdays
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn about our menu offerings and service procedures
• Previous restaurant or barista experience is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm for customer service is essential

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Pay: £10.00-£12.50 per hour
