- Responsible for
- The provision of a range of training and support services mainly in the Core and Curriculum area of the EdIS/C2k system.
- Key Purpose
- Provide, under the direction of a Locality Manager, a range of training and support services in order that schools can make effective use of their Management Information Systems and other aspects of the EdIS/C2k provision, with which these interface.
- Scope and Context
- The post holder will contribute to the development of an overall implementation strategy in relation to the Management Information Systems and will provide training and school-based and Service Desk support as directed by a Locality Manager.
- As EdIS/C2k operates province wide, applicants should note that they may be required to support the service in the Education Authority area.
- Main Duties
- 1. Assist with the design, development and delivery of in-service strategies which will contribute to the effective use by schools of their Management Information Systems and other aspects of EdIS/C2k provision with which these interface;
- 2. Deliver effective training to the clerical, administrative and teaching staff of schools within guidelines established by the Service Delivery Management Team;
- 3. Assist with the ongoing development and enhancements of aspects of schools-based systems by contributing to pilot testing of upgrades and the development of system documentation and by participating in cross-service meetings;
- 4. Contribute to the customisation of the Core and Curriculum Systems (and related areas) and associated documentation, within guidelines established by the Service Delivery Management Team;
- 5. Provide progress reports and updates to the Locality Manager and the EdIS/C2k Lead Manager as required;
- 6. Provide appropriate Service Desk, remote and on-site support to staff in schools;
- 7. Assist schools in using their Management Information Systems to meet the information requirements of external agencies;
- 8. Advise schools on security and control procedures in relation to their computerised management systems, within guidelines established by the Service Delivery Management Team;
- 9. Assist with team planning and staff deployment as required by the Locality Manager;
- 10. Advise and assist senior managers in schools so that they can make effective use of their Management Information Systems;
- 11. Undertake any other duties which may from time to time be required by the Locality Manager or the EdIS/C2k Lead Manager.
- This job description will be subject to review in light of changing circumstances and is not intended to be rigid and inflexible but should be regarded as providing guidelines within which the individual works. Other duties of a similar nature and appropriate to the grade may be assigned from time to time.

- Qualifications
- Hold a teaching qualification which meets the requirements for recognition to teach in grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland.

- Have a minimum of five years’ demonstrable teaching experience in a grant-aided school and/or experience in an advisory/support role within the education sector.
- Demonstrable experience of leading or managing staff within a school/education sector.
- Demonstrable experience in the customisation and associated implementation of the school MIS.
- Demonstrable experience in the effective delivery of in-service training related to the post.
- Demonstrable experience of curriculum planning in schools and the associated issues.

The successful candidate will be required
