Buyer Ystradgynlais £32-£35k Reed Procurement are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, equipment, and services essential for our operations. You will manage the full purchase order lifecycle, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. What you'll be doing: Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets.Act as the main interface between suppliers and internal departments.Monitor supply issues and advise on risks or opportunities.Negotiate contracts and improve pricing and terms with suppliers.Analyse costs and review cost-reduction activities.Maintain strong supplier relationships and effective communication.Ensure accuracy of purchase orders and compliance with requirements.Prepare reports and updates on purchasing activities.Assess, manage, and mitigate procurement risks. What you need: Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.Analytical and numerically astute with problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of stock processes, demand forecasting, and MRP systems.Commercial and financial awareness.Familiarity with international shipping and customs requirements.Proficient in MS Office.Solid judgement and decision-making skills.Ability to see the bigger picture and adapt to change.Experience in building and maintaining supplier relationships.
