Join Clinical Manufacturing & Supply (CM&S) within Operations as a Business Decision Architect—a key role shaping decision-centric digital products that improve reliability, productivity, and waste reduction across our clinical portfolio, helping us deliver medicines to patients and advance our Bold Ambition: 20 new medicines by 2030. ABOUT THE ROLE As the Business Decision Architect, you will be directing feasibility assessments and deliver approved user requirement specifications that enable data-driven decision-making in clinical supply chains, improving reliability, productivity, and waste reduction. Lead the discovery and articulation of business needs by engaging stakeholders across clinical supply to capture objectives, pain points, and decision contexts. Translate these needs into clear, testable, and prioritized digital product requirements and user stories, ensuring feasibility and alignment with strategic outcomes. Own end-to-end business analysis that links objectives, hypotheses, data, insights, decisions, and outcomes. Use data and business context to craft clear, compelling narratives that inform digital product design and deliver ongoing reports and visualizations that drive action and adoption. Ensure traceability from strategic goals to measurable results. Partner with our Data Governance teams to ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance underpin every digital product; with Data Products to shape and prioritize reusable data assets; and with Business Process Leads to embed solutions into operational workflows, align change management plans, and realize measurable business outcomes. Coordinate the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of these products to support prioritized use cases sourced via the CI intake process, and oversee product integration, governance, and lifecycle management to sustain performance and adoption. You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing multiple concurrent agile projects (MVP, Version 1, iterative releases), and orchestrate people, process, data, and technology requirements. Provide coaching, task management, and best-practice guidance to other Business Decision Architects, Decision Intelligence Developers and Business Process Leads across multiple functions and stakeholder groups. Join us in exploiting the latest technology and AI to build predictive and prescriptive recommendations that equip our teams with timely insights, guided decisions, and embedded actions to deliver our challenging Clinical Supply Chain objectives. Typical accountabilities Lead the completion of Feasibility Assessments and User Requirements Specification (URS) activities in alignment with the overall project plan. Ensure all deliverables meet the required quality standards, providing clear and actionable outputs to enable effective use case development by business developers. Partnering with the business on use case identification and re-imagining processes, with an understanding of what the data and technologies are capable of. Work alongside IT and developers to ensure digital products are aligned to the business solution. Partner with Data Governance, Data Product, Business Process Leads and IT Teams to deliver clearly scoped and aligned Project Use Cases to the Development team. Essential Skills: · Bachelor’s degree in business, data or technology discipline – or equivalent number of years of experience. · Proven expertise in applying technical skills to drive business value within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, manufacturing, or other complex operational settings. · High level of proficiency defining product roadmaps and executing digital product strategies in complex environments with the ability to prioritize decisions. · Demonstrated ability creating data driven insights tailored to stakeholders and business users. · Demonstrated experience of Global or Clinical Pharmaceutical Supply Chain processes and systems. · Demonstrated application of the AZ Global Lean Framework and Business Process Management. · Excellent analytical, problem-solving, change management, and critical thinking skills. · Fundamental understanding of Digital and AI concepts. · Self-motivated with high degree of adaptability in dealing with an ambiguous, complex, and fast-paced work environment. · Clear written and verbal communication; ability to train users and support adoption.
