- The Role
- We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a background in accountancy or professional services to support a firm-wide transformation programme focused on upgrading or migrating core business systems. This role will play a critical part in shaping and implementing the future of our operational ecosystem, including practice management systems (PMS), document management systems (DMS), client portals, and finance platforms.
- You’ll be the linchpin between our internal stakeholders and technology teams—translating business needs into clear requirements, mapping current and future processes, and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, scalable, and client-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the requirements gathering for replacement or optimisation of key business systems including PMS, DMS, client portal, and finance systems
- Facilitate workshops with internal teams (e.g. Finance, Client Services, Operations, Compliance) to understand user needs, pain points, and desired outcomes
- Document as-is and to-be processes, user journeys, data flows, and system touchpoints
- Identify dependencies and integration needs between systems across the tech stack
- Support vendor selection through RFP, demo evaluations, and comparison of technical and commercial suitability
- Collaborate closely with xxx to ensure successful delivery of technology change
- Ensure changes are compliant with relevant policies, regulations, and client contractual obligations
- If extended post 3 months
- Work with internal stakeholders to define test scenarios, support UAT, and help drive adoption
- Proactively identify risks and propose mitigations throughout the lifecycle of the change
- Support the development of training materials, business readiness plans, and communications to end users
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a professional services or accountancy firm environment
- Deep understanding of practice management, document management, and client onboarding systems
- Strong knowledge of wider platforms such as client portals, time & billing systems, finance platforms, and workflow engines
- Experience of working on system migrations or replacements, including data migration and change management
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work across stakeholder levels including Partners, Operations, Finance, and IT
- Strong analytical and documentation skills—able to produce high-quality process maps, business requirements, and test scripts
- Comfortable working in both agile and waterfall environments
- Desirable
- Experience with systems such as CCH, IRIS, Xero Practice Manager, Silverfin, Caseware, SharePoint, or similar platforms
- Exposure to compliance frameworks, risk registers, or internal audit processes
- Understanding of data security and document retention best practices within accountancy

- Our standard working week is a 37.5-hour week on a hybrid basis
- Core working hours are 10am - 4pm Monday to Friday
