- Job Description
- Within this Business Analyst position, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. You will have responsibility for identifying, analysing, and documenting business requirements and user stories, ensuring that solutions align with strategic objectives and deliver measurable value. By working closely with stakeholders, SME’s, delivery teams, and Product Owners, you will ensures that business goals are clearly understood, effectively communicated, and successfully translated into actionable outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
- You will utilise industry-standard tools and best practices to capture all technical, functional, and non-functional requirements within an Agile/Waterfall framework. You will be applying appropriate techniques such as use cases, UML diagrams, and business/technical process maps to ensure requirements are clearly defined and actionable for the delivery team.
- Through a combination of analytical rigor, stakeholder collaboration, and agile delivery practices, you will be ensuring that business needs are effectively translated into impactful, high-quality solutions.

- Business Analysis
- Elicit, capture, and manage both high-level and detailed business requirements, collaborating with the delivery team to inform and support the development of business cases.
- Define and maintain control over project scope, ensuring the delivery team remains aligned with agreed deliverables and business objectives.
- Work closely with the delivery team to estimate effort using t-shirt sizing, contributing to accurate and realistic business case and planning.
- Document and manage all types of requirements—including functional, non-functional, technical, and working with the data analyst to capture management information (MI)—ensuring alignment with product goals and maintaining full traceability throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Analyse and document complex business rules, ensuring future changes do not negatively impact existing functionality or logic.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of process maps to visualize current and future state workflows, using industry-standard tools and techniques (e.g., BPMN, flowcharts, swim lane diagrams). Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, identify inefficiencies, and support continuous improvement and solution design.
- Create and maintain essential product artefacts such as business and technical process flows, UI wireframes/mock-ups, use case diagrams, business requirements documents, and traceability matrices.
- Support the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA’s) and Data Protection Assessments (DPA’s) for proposed changes, ensuring that robust controls are in place and compliant with relevant regulations.
Delivery
- Contribute to the development of a project plans and product increments
- Collaborate with the delivery team to prioritise the Sprint Backlog in alignment with PI Objectives and the broader Product Roadmap.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner and Solution Architect to decompose business requirements into Epics and Features, to ensure alignment with architectural standards and the target architecture for Together.
- Create clear, concise user stories with measurable acceptance criteria to support effective development and testing.
- Partner with the Scrum team to refine user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring a shared understanding before development begins.
- Work collaboratively across delivery teams to ensure full comprehension of user story scope, intent, and required functionality.
- Continuously refine delivery estimates throughout the delivery cycle in accordance with the Change Delivery Framework (CDF).
- Engage with Data & BI teams to identify and manage data impacts within the scope of change delivery.
- Support agile-based design and prototyping by validating that designs remain aligned with agreed requirements.
- Actively participate in daily stand-ups, ensuring timely resolution of delivery team queries throughout the lifecycle.
- Deliver Show & Share sessions at the end of each sprint, capturing business feedback and outcomes.
- Support the testing process by ensuring test scripts are aligned with business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Perform pre-release verification to confirm readiness for production deployment.
- Ensure full adherence to Together’s Change Delivery Framework and governance standards
Production Support
- Provide application support for all applications systems within your team or train, managing/supporting production incidents and queries. Ensure bugs and recurring issues are logged, tracked, and prioritised based on business impact and agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure timely resolution of service desk tickets in accordance with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to improve system stability and supportability.
- Support out-of-hours production releases for your team or other teams within the train, including post-implementation verification and early life support.
- Ensure full compliance with Together’s Change Framework and IT Operational Policies and Procedures.
- Proven ability to plan, design, and lead effective workshops.
- Strong analytical mindset with a solid understanding of structured business analysis techniques.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Confident operating across all levels of the business, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
- Skilled in stakeholder management, with the confidence to challenge constructively when appropriate.
- Capable of translating complex business and technical requirements into clear, actionable insights for delivery teams.
- Experienced in managing multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining high standards.
- Highly organized and adaptable, with a flexible approach to work and the ability to multitask effectively within a collaborative delivery team.
- Resilient under pressure, with experience contributing to the resolution of high-profile incidents as part of a wider team.
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst within the Financial Services sector.

- ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis (achieved or currently pursuing).
