About the job
We have an exciting opportunity for a Branch Governance Administrator to join our wider Secretariat Team. The Branch Governance Team plays an essential role in support of our network of branches in ensuring they are well led and governed and meet the requirements of the Charity Commission and other regulators. The role is diverse; you are responsible for supporting our branches and resolving or signposting their governance needs in line with our policies and procedures. You also play a key role the organisation of our Annual Conference, a prestigious event which is central to the Association’s governance and membership experience.
Primary responsibilities include
Act as the first line of support to branches with day-to-day queries regarding governance, and the Association’s rules.
Support the Branch Governance Officer in developing guidance and tools to support branches and providing training and development to branch committees.
Provide first line support to branch officials regarding the annual compliance requirements.
Process branch annual returns and work with Branch and Member Wellbeing Officers
Provide administrative support to area council meetings and the Annual Conference Committee including minute taking.
Produce performance data for quarterly reports to the Branch and Membership Committee
Act as first line of support to branch members wishing to obtain DBS/PVG or equivalent checks
Assist in overseeing the effective closure of branches and branch clubs
Maintain a database of trophies, certificates and awards to branches and stations
About you
Our ideal colleague will have a broad range of administration skills and will be highly proficient in using IT such as SharePoint, databases (we use Salesforce) and Microsoft Office applications. Previous experience in a busy and varied role is required along with experience in delivering high quality customer care to a diverse range of stakeholders. As an excellent communicator, you will have the ability to handle all contact with our members diplomatically and sensitively. An understanding of general principles of governance and working within a charity or membership organisation is highly desirable.
