This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key position with real autonomy, flexibility, and room to grow.Key responsibilities: Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients (sole traders, partnerships, limited companies)Process purchase and sales invoices using Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Dext and HubdocReconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan balances weekly and monthlySubmit VAT returns (Standard, Flat Rate, Cash Accounting), ensuring MTD complianceHandle CIS returns and monthly & quarterly PAYE/CIS reconciliationsPrepare accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset registersLiaise with clients to chase missing information and ensure timely bookkeepingAssist with year-end preparation and liaise with external accountantsLead MTD ITSA readiness from April 2026 What we're looking for: AAT Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent experience)2+ years' bookkeeping experience, ideally in an accountancy practiceProficient with Xero, QuickBooks, Dext and cloud-based accounting toolsComfortable working independently and directly with clientsStrong knowledge of UK VAT rules, CIS, and payroll journalsExcellent reconciliation and problem-solving skillsAble to drive and commute to the Crawley office What’s on offer: Flexible part-time hours – 4-day week (Mon–Thurs), approx. 22 hoursPrivate medical insurance for you and your immediate family£100 monthly wellbeing allowanceOn-site parkingFull s
