🌎 About us: Wise (formerly TransferWise) is a provider of international money transfers at low and transparent fees. We move money equivalent to more than £30bn each quarter for our 7.5 million customers. To reach potential customers, we run several blogs, each of them perfectly tailored to the demands of a certain locale. 💻 About the project: We’re looking for freelance fact-checkers for our blog content for our English-speaking markets in APAC. Your scope: - Swiftly and accurately fact-check all claims, statistics, names, dates, and quoted sources against provided links and screenshots. - Conduct targeted independent research to validate specific pieces of information when provided sources are insufficient, outdated, or immediately appear unreliable. - Clearly flag anything that looks ambiguous, inconsistent, or unverified, always with clear notes and helpful ideas on how to fix it. Rate: One unit at Wise is around 1000 - 1299 words and article lengths can vary, but normally stay within the 1-2 unit range. Payment is made based on number of units ($10 USD per unit). A thorough fact-check for a single unit (1,000-1299 words) should typically be completed within approximately 15-25 minutes. Delivery & Availability: We require a rapid turnaround, with completed units delivered by the next business day (a 24-hour turnover). You should ideally have at least 2-3 hours of availability per day for tasks, but we are open to discussing daily capacity. To start, you'll be given 2-4 articles to fact-check. This is a long-term contract opportunity, with a weekly pipeline of approximately 5-15 articles. 👩‍💻About you: - You possess a good eye for detail and a strong commitment to accuracy. - You are highly efficient and can quickly navigate sources to verify information. - You have strong communication skills to clearly articulate findings and suggest solutions. - Prior experience in fact-checking for online content, journalism, or a related field is a plus. - You are a reliable freelancer capable of managing your own workload and meeting tight deadlines.
