We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating high-quality beverages and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers have a delightful experience while enjoying their favourite drinks. If you have a love for coffee, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to food safety, we would love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For:

• A flexible candidate who can work weekends.
• A trained barista with previous experience.
• Latte art skills are an advantage.
• A friendly, approachable personality with excellent customer service skills.
• Experience in handling and serving Gluten-Free Cakes and food is a plus.
• A food hygiene certificate is an advantage (Level 2 training provided if needed).

Responsibilities

• Must have knowledge of coffee machine maintenance and timings.
• Ability to dial in a perfect coffee on the machine and electric grinder.
• Serve high-quality coffee and beverages with efficiency.
• Engage with customers and provide outstanding service.
• Follow proper cleaning down procedures.
• Conduct weekly stock takes for inventory orders and submit to management.
• On quieter days, assist in the bakery with packing cakes and other bakery-related tasks.
• Occasionally, be responsible for solely running and operating the coffee shop if other staff members are unavailable.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Work effectively within a team.
• Serve and handle Gluten-Free Cakes and food safely.Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including equipment and utensils.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations during food preparation.
• Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions they may have.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and support each other in daily tasks.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a barista or customer service role is preferred but not essential.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety practices is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with customers effectively.
• A friendly and approachable demeanour, willing to help both customers and colleagues alike.

• Extra weekday shifts may also be available on a weekly rota.
