Job descriptionAn NHS hospital in Surrey is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the therapy team, working across elderly care and general medical wards. This is a well-supported role within a multidisciplinary environment, ideal for an OT with strong discharge planning and acute hospital experience.You will manage a varied caseload of older adults and general medical patients, supporting safe and timely discharges while promoting independence and functional outcomes.Key responsibilitiesManage an autonomous caseload across elderly care and general medical wardsComplete functional assessments and develop appropriate treatment plansSupport complex discharge planning, including equipment provision and community referralsWork closely with the MDT including physiotherapists, nurses, doctors, and social servicesContribute to service development and support junior staff where requiredPerson specificationHCPC-registered Occupational TherapistExperience working at Band 6 level (or strong Band 5 ready to step up)Previous NHS experience within elderly care and/or general medicineStrong communication, assessment, and discharge planning skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamHow to applyTo apply or find out more, please submit your application or contact Vivid Healthcare today for a confidential discussion.
