Robert Half is supporting a global consulting partner in sourcing an experienced AWS Python Solution Architect to join a major financial services engagement. The role focuses on designing and implementing secure, scalable AWS-native solutions using Python, Terraform, and containerised architecture, enabling new data and AI capabilities while ensuring compliance and resilience across critical workloads. Assignment Details Initial Duration: 6 months (likely extension given scope)Location: Hybrid - 2 days per week in London or EdinburghDay Rate:£600 PAYE +12.07% holiday pay - PAYE with employer's NI & Tax deducted at source, unlike umbrella companies and no umbrella company admin feesStart Date: ASAP Key Skills & Experience Strong banking backgroundDeep AWS architecture expertise across VPC, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and KMSStrong Python development background (boto3, FastAPI, automation tooling, testing frameworks)Hands-on Terraform experience at module level, including policy-as-code (OPA / Conftest)Proven design and delivery using ECS Fargate or EKS with secure image scanning and runtime securityExperience building observability frameworks - metrics, logging, tracing, retention, and access controlStrong understanding of security and compliance requirements in financial services (FCA, DORA, PRA)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CodePipeline)Desirable exposure to SageMaker, model lifecycle integration, and MLOps monitoring Role
