We seek to appoint an Associate Professor/Professor of Architectural Practice with an outstanding industry reputation who can bridge the gap between architectural scholarship and professional practice. This will be a continuing role of between 0.5 and 1.0 with the incumbent being a practitioner holding ideally a Principal position with an architectural firm. Your key responsibilities will be to: maintain reputation as a leader in architectural practice develop and maintain a sustained record of professionally relevant research or design work that meets high standards of peer review contribute to scholarly debate and innovation through design, construction, publication and media presentations advance the architecture profession by effectively combining academic scholarship with sophisticated professional practice undertake a leadership role in educational innovation, curriculum design and review, contributing to outstanding educational delivery and outcomes coordinate and engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences that meet the University’s expectations and standards for education, especially supervising students in architectural studio lead or contribute to the development of innovative curricula and programs, enhance practical applications within areas of architectural expertise to improve teaching and learning outcomes make an outstanding contribution to governance and collegial life within the University, including undertaking administrative or committee positions provide leadership towards improvements in student learning, research or professional engagement outcomes contribute positively to workplace culture in which diversity of thought, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled lead impactful collaborations and relationships with industry, government, and community organisations, provide thought leadership, and lead strategic initiatives and partnerships About you (skills, capabilities and experience) postgraduate qualifications in Architecture hold an active Principal role within an Architectural firm or relevant organisation demonstrated teaching ability and track record of successful teaching in architecture at university level, including in design studios a critical experimental and/or research agenda with regard to the architectural profession and its societal role, which can be productively explored through architectural design education established industry experience and profile for innovation in Architecture a strong network that can be leveraged to maintain educational relevance for professional and industry needs demonstrated success in effectively engaging with a diverse and broad range of stakeholders in professional practice Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: Visa sponsorship is available for this position.
