Position Details Full Time | Continuing Academic Level D | AU$165,810 - $182,419 p.a + 17% super I View Position Description Academic Level E I AU$197,646 p.a + 17% Super I View Position Description Location: Tonsley / Kaurna Country /Australia View Candidate Brochure About the Role: Flinders University’s College of Science and Engineering is seeking a distinguished academic to join the Computing & Mathematical Sciences discipline as an Associate Professor / Professor in Human Computer Interaction & User Experience (HCI/UX). You will provide outstanding leadership in research, curriculum development, supervision, and mentoring, fostering the growth of Early and Middle Career Researchers. The position supports Flinders’ reputation as a centre of excellence nationally and internationally and advances the discipline of Computer Science in HCI/UX. In this position, you will: Deliver high-quality, innovative teaching in HCI/UX using contemporary pedagogy and multi-mode delivery methods, including curriculum development and accreditation. Publish internationally recognised research outputs in HCI/UX and related areas and attract and manage external competitive research grants and contribute to growth in Flinders’ research income. Supervise honours, doctoral, and higher degree research students, contributing to the growth of the PhD cohort. Mentor and develop junior academic colleagues, including collaborative publications and grant submissions. This position is open to interstate and international candidates. Relocation and visa support is available. About You: You are an internationally recognised academic with expertise in Human Computer Interaction and/or User Experience, with a strong track record in teaching, research, and leadership. You will have experience mentoring colleagues and contributing to the advancement of your discipline nationally and internationally. You will also demonstrate: Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification, in Computer Science, HCI/UX or a related area. Distinguished and active record of teaching excellence at tertiary level, including leadership in program delivery and curriculum development. Internationally recognised research track record aligned with College strengths, evidenced by high-quality publications and competitive grant success. Strong track record in disciplinary leadership, external professional engagement, and community contribution.
