The goal is to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and the lead relationship bank for key clients globally. JOB PURPOSE The Associate, Global Credit Finance (“GCF”) is a member of a team that provides financing to clients secured by portfolios of corporate credit assets in a variety of formats, including Repos, Total Return Swaps, and Credit Facilities collateralized by bonds, structured products, Middle Market, Private Credit and Broadly Syndicated Loans. In his role, you will be responsible for supporting the growth of CIBC’s GCF platform in Europe, booking, trading and managing credit and market risk related to a global corporate asset financing book. You will be part of a tight-knit deal team that provides financing facilities to marquee private lenders, large asset managers and sophisticated pension fund clients. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Support trading desk in repo, TRS, credit repo, and loan financing. Contribute to our platform’s continued growth in additional asset classes. Oversee and provide assistance where necessary to ensure all operational aspects of transactions are working as required to mitigate risk and satisfy client expectations. Remain current on industry and economic developments and on traded markets. Work in the spirit of transparency and collaboration with our partners in Capital Markets Risk Management, Treasury, Accounting, Tax and Legal. Work effectively within CIBC’s corporate governance practices and policies to ensure that all potential risks are appropriately addressed and that CIBC legal/reputational issues and shareholder objectives are covered. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Work with senior team members, with Structuring, Sales/Distribution, Risk Management, Treasury and other stakeholders to provide excellent client outcomes, and in the context of monitoring and supporting trading activity. COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Financing professional with 2+ years of experience in Structured Credit and financing structures involving Repo, TRS and credit agreements Familiarity with CLO/ABS/SRT and structured credit asset WORKING CONDITIONS ·This role operates within a normal office environment.
