  • ABOUT THE ROLE
  • The Bamford Wellness Spa in South Kensington is looking for a dynamic and commercially driven Retail & Spa Manager to lead both the retail store and our spa teams.
  • You will inspire and motivate your team to deliver exceptional service, drive sales and treatment revenue, and create an environment where both retail and spa thrive together.
  • Reporting to the Director of Wellness and Spas, you will oversee day-to-day operations, champion Bamford’s philosophy, and ensure excellence in both guest experience and commercial performance as well as managing a supervisor, a front-of-house retail team, and our Spa Therapists.
  • This is a wonderful opportunity for a Spa or Retail professional who shares our passion for mindful beauty, wellness innovation, and exceptional service.
  • 40 hours per week, including weekend work.
  • Salary £45,000 per annum plus treatment and retail commission.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead, motivate, and coach a high-performing team across retail and spa (Assistant Manager, retail advisors, and spa therapists).
  • Deliver an exceptional client journey across both retail and treatments.
  • Drive retail sales performance and spa revenue, consistently achieving or exceeding targets.
  • Manage staff scheduling, recruitment, training, and ongoing development.
  • Oversee stock management, visual merchandising, and operational standards within the retail store.
  • Ensure spa treatment delivery is aligned with Bamford protocols and consistently exceeds guest expectations.
  • Support local marketing initiatives, client events, and business development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety requirements and operational policies.
  • Analyse and act on performance data (retail KPIs, treatment occupancy, average spend, etc.) to optimise results.
  • SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing people in a luxury retail, spa, or wellness environment.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy (or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
  • Ideally from a luxury skincare retail background, with strong commercial and client service experience.
  • If not from a spa setting, you must have a solid understanding of booking systems, client scheduling, and service delivery to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales and revenue targets.
  • A confident leader who can coach, inspire, and develop multi-functional teams.
  • Passionate about holistic wellness, luxury retail, and delivering first-class client service.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexible and willing to work weekends, some evenings and bank holidays as required.
  • A positive, enthusiastic and flexible individual with a can-do attitude.
  • A genuine interest and passion for beauty and wellness.
  • A good communication skills and use of the English language, written and verbal.
