Assistant AccountantFulbourn, Cambridge (hybrid)£35,000-£45,000 per annumWe are currently working with a Cambridgeshire (East) based company who are seeking a driven Assistant Accountant to support the CFO in the production of accurate, timely group accounts and to play a key role in driving financial control, compliance, and process improvement across the UK business and international subsidiaries.This is a hands-on role with broad exposure across group finance, offering responsibility for UK statutory reporting, subsidiary oversight, budgeting and forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives, including ERP development.Key ResponsibilitiesUK FinanceEnsure daily bank reconciliations are completed accurately and on timeProduce monthly UK cash flow reports, management statistics, and variance analysisPrepare and submit monthly statutory returns (including VAT) and ONS returnsOversee the day-to-day running of the finance department, supporting and managing staffDeliver accurate UK monthly accounts to print point, including: Accruals and prepaymentsFixed assets and inventoryRecoveries and sales reportingBalance sheet reconciliations and budget variancesLead the preparation of the annual UK budget and re-forecasts, working closely with departmental managersDevelop, monitor, and maintain departmental KPIsSubsidiariesEnsure the timely and accurate production of subsidiary accounts (currently Germany, Japan, and China) to print point for consolidationLiaise with third-party accounting firms in overseas territories to ensure statutory accounts and tax compliance are completed on timeLead subsidiary budgeting and re-forecasting processes in collaboration with local and group managementGroup & Projects<u
