Do you have a passion for working with people and the ability to empathise with others?
The West London Women’s Service is a specialist gender and trauma informed Assessment Hub for women with complex needs who are at risk of, or have experienced domestic abuse, violence against women and girls (VAWG); and have multiple disadvantages.
We have a great opportunity for someone interested in working as part of an innovate women’s only service in an Assessment and Reconnection role and becoming part of this exciting team achieving positive outcomes to support women in their recovery and move on journey.
In this role you will:
- Be part of a busy team environment working closely with women new to, or at risk of rough sleeping.
- Provide a personalised case management support to clients, turning assessment recommendations into practical action plans which fully involves the client.
- Build and maintain effective relationships to support clients throughout their recovery.
- Develop a knowledge of relevant legislation such as, welfare benefit and housing legislation.
- Work on a weekly rota including early, mid and late shifts (some evening and weekend work may be required).
About you
To thrive in this role you will be experienced in managing complex and difficult situations in relations to people.
You will also have;
- Good interpersonal and listening skills, patience and resilience and the ability to adapt to new situations
- Great communication skills, with the ability to network and build effective relationships with a variety people and services.
- Understanding of the issues involved in providing support to women with complex support needs including mental and physical health needs, substance dependency and who may be on low income.
