Retail Store Manager – Ashton-in-Makerfield
Permanent Position – 31.5 Hours per Week (Rota Basis)
We are a small, family-run retail business seeking a dedicated and personable retail manager to lead our store in Ashton-in-Makerfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a customer-facing environment and enjoys being hands-on in the day-to-day running of a shop.
About the Role
As Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the store, ensuring excellent customer service, and supporting a small team. The role is primarily based on the shop floor, with occasional office duties including logging figures, answering emails, and general store administration.
Key Responsibilities
• Leading and motivating a small team to deliver friendly, efficient service
• Being an advocate for great customer service
• Delegating tasks and managing daily operations
• Handling cashing up and ensuring accurate financial procedures
• Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming shop environment
• Communicating effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers
• Carrying out basic office duties as required
• Adhering to Health and Safety legislation
• Supporting your team in wellbeing and success
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has previous experience in retail management or supervisory roles
• Is confident with cash handling and team delegation
• Communicates clearly and professionally
• Takes pride in doing a thorough, accurate job
• Enjoys working with people and creating a positive atmosphere
Working Hours
This is a permanent position of 31.5 hours per week, worked Monday to Sunday on a rota basis. Flexibility is essential.

To be discussed based on experience.
