  • We are currently seeking a Apprentice Facilities & Estates Operative to join our team in Blackburn. We are thrilled to present an exciting new opportunity for a passionate individual to join our Environmental Services team in the dynamic field of Facilities and Estates. This apprenticeship is tailored for those eager to provide exceptional facilities services support to both customers and FM departments. Your role will encompass a range of soft FM functions, including cleaning, security, front-of-house, catering, logistics, post room services, and portering, as well as supporting hard FM functions like maintenance and engineering. As a Facilities Services Operative, you will engage with both internal and external customers, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Health and Safety regulations.   • Outline of key responsibilities for the Apprentice Facilities & Estates Operative…
  • Work within different teams on all aspects of cleaning and waste management.
  • Carry out routine cleaning of all internal and external communal areas, ensuring these areas are left clean, safe and attractive for our customers; using a combination of hand tools, power tools and chemical agents when required.
  • When required assistant in the removal of graffiti, fly tipped waste on the organisations land.
  • Undertake a range of minor repairs to communal properties, gardens and the wider estate including planned deep cleaning. Ensure that access footpaths are kept free from hazards and/or obstructions.
  • Adaptability and flexibility, responsible for working in service areas across the team as required, cleaning, waste & house removals and general duties associated with estate management.
  • To promptly and effectively handle on-site customer inquiries while communicating clearly and efficiently at all levels.
  • Plans and organises workload to meet deadlines in line with the departmental service plans.

  • *Please note that this is a fixed-term contract lasting 18 months, for the duration of the apprenticeship program.
  • Salary: During the first year of the apprenticeship, the compensation will be £7.55 per hour, equating to an annual salary of £14,526.20. PLEASE be aware that this is regardless of age.
  • In the 2nd year salary Under 18, £7.55 per hour and annually, £14,526.20. £10 per hour, annual salary £19,240.00 (Aged 18-20) or (for those aged over 21) £12.21 per hour, annual salary £23,492.04
  • Studying towards the Facilities Services Operative Level 2
  • 27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays
