 - Job Overview
 - We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join the Adult Acute Team at Bedford Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dysphagia-trained clinician to provide specialist assessment and therapy to adult patients within the acute wards.
 - You will play a key role in delivering high-quality speech and language therapy services to patients with communication and swallowing difficulties, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support optimal patient recovery and discharge planning.
 - This position offers flexibility with full-time or part-time hours available, making it ideal for a dedicated professional seeking to contribute their expertise within a supportive NHS setting.
 - Key Responsibilities
 
In this role, you will
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and management of adults with communication and swallowing disorders within an acute hospital environment.
 - Deliver dysphagia assessments and interventions in line with professional standards and clinical best practice.
 - Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team.
 - Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
 - Contribute to case discussions, goal setting, and discharge planning.
 - Support service development and quality improvement initiatives as appropriate.
 - Qualifications and Experience
 
To be considered for this role, you must have
- A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
 - Current HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership.
 - Dysphagia qualification and recent clinical experience managing adults with swallowing disorders in an acute setting.
 - Strong communication and teamwork skills.
 - The ability to work autonomously and manage a clinical caseload effectively.
