  • Pay $12.73 - $14 per hour DOQ Under general supervision, this position greets the public and employees who enter the Human Resources office. Answers calls from the public and employees providing assistance and routing calls to the appropriate office or individual. Assists HR staff with onboarding processes. Provides information and assistance to the public and employees on available job openings. Performs other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Performs customer service to internal and external customers. Assists with general employment questions. Assists with new hire, promotional and transfer paperwork. Assists applicants with completing applications on the computer. Verifies status of applicant hire and rehire eligibility. Answers telephone and routes calls to the appropriate office or individual. Provides general information and assistance to citizens, employees and prospective employees regarding city policies, procedures, functions, and benefits. Stamps in and manages mail distribution daily. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Requires previous administrative experience. Human Resources-related experience is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires good typing skills, 30 wpm is preferred. Will require operating appropriate computer software including, Workday, Word, Excel, and Outlook, office equipment, copy machines and multi-line telephone system. Must have good oral and written and public communication skills. Ability to multi-task and deal with constant interruptions. WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee works in a dynamic environment that requires being sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Will work Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.
