Normal hours for the position are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday although it may be necessary to work beyond those hours, including weekends as directed, in order serve the needs of the Intellectual/Developmental Disability Community in specific situations Opening Date February 3, 2026 Closing Date February 12, 2026 Job Requisition Number JR101024 ACTIVE TREATMENT IMPLEMENTOR (Open) Pay Grade U0T002 A Classification Active Treatment Implementor Class Definition REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPACITIES: Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and state policies concerning developmentally disabled as well as state and federal health and human service programs. a comprehensive understanding of the services and training needs of the Intellectual/Developmental Disabled Community; a comprehensive understanding of the accessibility standards for various methods of communication with the Intellectual/Developmental Disabled Community, including print media, social media and websites; the ability to read, understand, interpret and apply federal ADA laws and state statutes concerning the developmentally disabled, the ability to conduct trainings using standard techniques and human relations skills; the ability to collect necessary information to develop training cun'iculums and modules; the ability to interpret health and human service program information in an accurate and timely manner; the ability to communicate to a wide variety of stakeholders and develop positive working relationships; the ability to excise sound judgement in analyses and compilation of training materials and make presentations; working lmowledge of Windows Operating Systems, usage of a personal computer (PC) and standard desktop office tools; capacity to navigate a computer while on the telephone and while providing in-person assistance; the ability to provide clear and accurate information to trainees, agencies, employers and other interested parties; the ability to interact with co-workers in a professional, tactful and courteous manner; the ability to recognize trainee needs and seek additional information; the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written communications; the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to review and complete eligibility-related forms and applications; the ability to prepare and submit special and reoccurring rep01is, including simple statistical breakdowns; the ability to identify and recognize specific information from data; the ability to efficiently and effectively navigate an integrated automated database; and related capacities and abilities. Supplemental Information Within the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH), Office of Training and Communications, to be responsible for preparing training materials over a wide range of topics designed to ensure that members of the Intellectual/Developmentally Disabled Community receive all of the services to which they are entitled in a manner consistent with federal and state laws and regulations and ensuring that all community stakeholders are kept informed of current and future developments in these areas by means of social media and other methods of communication. Develop training materials relevant to the Intellectual/Developmentally Disabled Community as directed by management within the Division of Development Disabilities; topics shall include, but not necessarily be limited to: a. Services and support available to the Intellectual/Developmental Disability Community; b. Conflict Free Case Management, including the application of any applicable consent decrees and orders of the state and federal courts; c. Medicaid Overview d. Policies and procedures of the Division of Developmental Disabilities applicable to employees of the Department of Behavioral Healthcare and Developmental Disabilities; e. Changes with respect to the standard of care for participants as well as changes to governing state and federal laws and regulations; f. The use of standard software products in the Intellectual/Developmental Disability Community such as WellSky, Microsoft Office, and the electronic case management system; g. Billing and payment procedures for direct care providers; h. Onboarding procedures for newly licensed providers and agencies; 1. Onboarding procedures for newly hired BHDDH staff. J, Orientation material, including self-directed orientation, for new members of the Rhode Island Intellectual/Developmental Disability Community, self-direct orientation; and k. Topics that affect Intellectual/Developmental Disability participants such as the rights campaign, supported decision making, guardianship, and sexuality training. Conduct training sessions, both in-person and by means of remote hearings, regarding the above-referenced material for staff of the Division of Development Disabilities, Conflict Free Case Management agency staff, direct support professionals and paraprofessionals, participants, the families of participants and the I/DD advocacy community. Create and distribute newsletters, instructional booklets, instructional guides and/or manuals, infographics and flyers regarding the above referenced material by means of both hard copy and appropriate websites, in accessible languages and formats. Create and distribute instructional videos regarding the above referenced material .by means of appropriate websites and social media platforms. Prepare annual reports on the Division's work and accomplishments to be delivered to internal and external stakeholders as part of the Division's goal for transparency and to share information with the DD community. Review all written material, websites maintained by the Division, and videos distributed by appropriate websites and social media platforms is consistent with federal and Division requirements for accessibility by the I/DD community and by those members of the community for whom English is not their first language. Responsible for designing, posting and updating material related to the Division's services, newsletters, providers, resources, and other relevant information on websites maintained by the State to ensure timeliness and transparency. Review all material to be used in newsletters, instructional booklets, instructional guides and/or manuals, infographics and flyers on the BHDDH website, in print, in video, in an electronic format, or in any other format is being used in a manner consistent with federal copyright laws and regulations. Review all material to be used in instructional videos posted on appropriate websites and social media platforms is being used in a mam1er consistent with federal copyright laws and regulations. Review and edit all materials received from both internal and external sources prior to use in newsletters, instructional booklets, instructional guides and/or manuals, infographics and flyers using MS Office. Review and edit all materials received from both internal and external sources prior to use in instructional videos posted on appropriate websites and social media platforms. Assist with the planning and staffing of special events involving the DD Community, such as the Rhode Island Parent Information Network (RIPIN) self-directed conference. Prepare and distribute event materials as directed, conduct training and/or informational sessions during the event, conduct surveys and staff tables prior to the start of the event. Assist with outreach to the Intellectual/Developmental Disability Community as directed. Procure translation services as needed and ensure compliance with the applicable Master Price Agreement and State purchasing laws and regulations. Monitor and evaluate the services provided by the vendor providing translation services to ensure that all translation services are provided in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure that BHDDH leadership and the Intellectual/Developmental Disability Community are advised on changes in federal and state laws and regulations regarding the care and support of Intellectual/Developmentally Disabled individuals.
