I’m supporting a well-established organisation who are looking for a confident Accounting Manager to take ownership of their end-to-end finance function. This is a pivotal position, responsible for ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and the smooth running of all financial operations. What the role involves Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reportsDeveloping and monitoring budgets across multiple departmentsIdentifying opportunities to improve efficiency and drive profitabilityCompleting partial exemption VAT returnsOverseeing the year-end process and working closely with external accountantsEnsuring compliance with HMRC requirements and statutory reportingCollaborating with managers to support sound financial decision-makingMaintaining accurate accounting records and documentationManaging payroll for a workforce of around 100 people What we’re looking for AAT, CIMA or ACCA qualification — or relevant equivalent experiencePrevious experience in an Accounting Manager or senior finance roleStrong technical accounting knowledgeProficiency with accounting systems such as Sage or XeroAdvanced Excel skills and confident data analysis abilitiesExcellent attention to detail and a strong analytical approachAbility to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressureClear and confident communication skills Cornwall-based with potential for hybrid working once settled in the role
