• The Durham University Biosciences department are currently looking to recruit a number of Postgraduate Demonstrators for the 2022/2023 academic year

• Marking
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the subject area
• Set and/or mark assessments according to relevant published criteria
• Keep accurate records of marks awarded, liaising with the departmental assessment team as necessary
• Provide oral and/or written feedback to students in line with departmental policy, procedures, and timescales
• Demonstrating
• Guide student in the laboratory
• Assist the laboratory leader as required, such as developing enhanced experiments
• Responsible for assisting in the delivery of laboratory classes.
• Attend annual briefing for demonstrators
• Attend training sessions for each activity
• Assist the Laboratory Supervisor in her/his duties in running the laboratory session
• To be present throughout each taught session, with reasonable breaks
• To ensure safe working practices and good order in the laboratories
• Provide support for students in laboratory practical classes
• Help ensure appropriate student conduct
• May mark log books and field trip reports
