Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant for a challenging and highly rewarding role in a specialist setting in the Bradford area. This crucial position involves working full-time with one specific pupil.
Key Responsibilities:
As a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant, your role will be instrumental in ensuring the pupil's well-being, engagement, and stability. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing consistent, focused support to a pupil with significant SEMH needs, ensuring they remain regulated and engaged in learning.
Confidently implementing bespoke behaviour support plans and using proven de-escalation techniques to manage challenging and crisis behaviours calmly.
Acting as a trusted anchor, providing proactive emotional support and guidance to help the pupil develop self-regulation strategies.
Helping the pupil access the curriculum and build positive relationships within the school environment.
Maintaining high levels of routine and structure to create a predictable and safe environment for the learner.
Requirements:
To succeed in this unique and vital role, you must possess:
Proven, recent experience working with pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist educational environment (e.g., PRU, special school, or resource provision).
Extensive experience dealing with and successfully managing challenging behaviour.
Availability to work full-time (8:15 AM - 3:15 PM).
A satisfactory Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply for a new one immediately).
Availability to start after the half term break (commencing 3rd November 2025).
Ability to accept a pay rate between £95 - £100 per day (depending on experience).
Ability to commute reliably to the BD21 area.
