Castle Dairies is an award-winning butter manufacturer based in Caerphilly, South Wales. We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Operative to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and safe running of our production lines while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Operate production machinery and equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adhere to food safety standards.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure smooth production flow and minimal downtime.
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the production area.
  • Ensure all products meet quality standards before packaging and distribution.
  • Accurately complete production records and documentation.
  • Identify and report any faults, issues, or safety concerns to the Team Leader/Supervisor.
  • Minimise waste and contribute ideas for improving efficiency.
  • Follow Health & Safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a punctual and reliable attendance record.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Quick learner with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Physically fit for repetitive tasks and standing for long periods.

Advantageous:

  • Previous experience in food production or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Manual Handling.
  • Food Safety and HACCP training.
