Technical Copywriter – Domestic Electrics, Renewables & Software
Location: Fully onsite at GivEnergy’s Manchester City Centre office
Salary: £40k – £50k pa (DOE and qualification level)
Schedule: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
We’re seeking a Technical Copywriter with a strong grasp of domestic electrical systems, renewables and software applications to join our growing team.
You’ll be responsible for creating clear, accurate, and engaging written content that supports the installation, use, and promotion of our products. This includes producing manuals, installation guides, marketing content, and training documentation.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Write, edit, and maintain technical manuals, installation instructions, and user guides for a range of GivEnergy products & Services
- Develop and update training materials for both internal teams and external installers.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for a variety of audiences, including homeowners, electricians, and partners.
- Collaborate with engineering, product development, and marketing teams to ensure documentation is technically accurate and aligned with brand tone.
- Produce compelling marketing copy for brochures, datasheets, web content, and promotional campaigns.
- Maintain version controlled documents and ensure documentation reflects the latest product updates and compliance standards.
- Assist in the scripting and content development of training videos and webinars.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Proven experience as a technical writer or copywriter, ideally within the domestic electrics, energy storage, or software sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical installations, smart home systems, and/or software platforms.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with content management systems, design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign or Illustrator), and documentation tools.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Experience with renewable energy systems, battery storage, or EV charging technologies.
- Knowledge of compliance and certification requirements within the UK electrical market.
- Experience producing video scripts or voice-over content.
